SOROPTIMIST INTERNATIONAL OF CAPE MAY COUNTY (SICMC)
IS SEEKING APPLICATIONS FOR
THE 2023 KINDLE AWARDS
Below is the application for the environmental award.
Thanks to the generous gift of a local business person, the SICMC is offering TWO awards of $1500. each to female high school seniors in Cape May County. We are looking for applicants who have financial need, academic excellence, and a commitment to helping others. Our chapter will award a business scholarship and an environmental scholarship:
Business: to qualify, the applicant must major in one of the following: business administration, finance, accounting, entrepreneurship, international business, economics or marketing
Environmental science/studies: to qualify the applicant must major in one of the following: environmental studies, fisheries, oceanography, marine biology, wildlife advocacy, climate change, environmental management or policy, science of sustainability
Applicants must meet the following criteria:
ü Be a senior female student in good standing residing in Cape May County.
ü Must have applied to an accredited community college, college, or university for the above listed fields of study
ü Demonstrate Academic Potential: Applicant must be a student in good standing and highly motivated to continue her education. Applicant must submit a transcript
ü Demonstrate Leadership Potential: Applicant should show her leadership qualities through participation in school, church or community service.
ü Demonstrate Financial Need: Applicant should indicate how the award may help them to afford college expenses

Articles – Good topics for articles include anything related to your company – recent changes to operations, the latest company softball game – or the industry you’re in. General business trends (think national and even international) are great article fodder, too.
Mission statements – You can tell a lot about a company by its mission statement. Don’t have one? Now might be a good time to create one and post it here. A good mission statement tells you what drives a company to do what it does.
Company policies – Are there company policies that are particularly important to your business? Perhaps your unlimited paternity/maternity leave policy has endeared you to employees across the company. This is a good place to talk about that.
Executive profiles – A company is only as strong as its executive leadership. This is a good place to show off who’s occupying the corner offices. Write a nice bio about each executive that includes what they do, how long they’ve been at it, and what got them to where they are.
