Soroptimist of Cape May County Violet Richardson Award
Volunteer - It’s What You Do That Counts!
Are you a young woman between the ages of 14 and 18 who volunteers in your community or school? If you are a young woman who believes in the power of volunteer action, then you may be eligible to win a Soroptimist Violet Richardson Award. This award recognizes young women who make the community and world a better place through volunteer efforts. Volunteer actions that benefit women or girls are of particular interest.
Soroptimist is an organization of women whose members volunteer in Cape May County, often working on the same problems that you do. Although we realize that volunteering is its own reward, we also know it feels good to be recognized for your actions. That is one reason why we sponsor this award and give $800 to the young woman selected for the award and $200 is donated toward the organization where she volunteers.

Deadline: February 12, 2024, - Completed applications and any supporting materials must be received by this date.
Soroptimists, and their immediate families are ineligible, as are previous Violet Richardson award winners.
Qualification
To qualify for this award the Applicant must demonstrate the following:
1. Female and Cape May County Resident
2. Dependability demonstrated by completing responsibilities honestly, reliably and with loyalty
3. Leadership proven by the ability to lead with initiative
4. Determination and commitment in pursuit of goals
5. Confirmation of current enrollment, acceptance or application to a medically related program
The application for the 2023 Medical Award offered by Soroptimist International of Cape May County. Three awards in the amount of $1250 each will be presented to the winning applicants. The applicant must demonstrate the five qualifications indicated above and provide the necessary documentation as follows:

2. Confirmation copy of current enrollment, acceptance or application to a medically related
program.
3.Two letters of reference.
4. Personal essay.
